Cotton velvet, formerly known by the evocative name « swan’s down » (which should conjure up images and sensations of great softness in you), has crossed the ages with undeniable grace. From the Middle Ages to the Renaissance, this rare and luxurious fabric, due to its long and laborious manufacturing process, fascinated the elites of the time who displayed and affirmed their social rank by wearing it proudly.

It was only in the 19th century that velvet managed to become more popular and invite itself into our interiors. And we can only be delighted !

Although we are not all members of the aristocracy or enthusiasts of high fashion, we appreciate the possibility of incorporating velvet into our homes. • Alix and Hazel printed collections. They offer a touch of fantasy with a floral pattern and a paisley pattern on removable cushion covers, perfect for adding a touch of originality to your interior.

It is in the light of these observations that CÉSAR was born, as well as these little printed brothers. This household linen, in pure cotton velvet with a density of 290 g/m2, perfectly embodies the unique qualities of velvet. Its soft and resistant texture captures the light with incomparable elegance.

Cotton velvet is certainly easier to maintain than its silk ancestor. While maintaining a natural material ! From then on, wash it by hand at a temperature of 30°C and gently iron it inside out at medium temperature. Its natural beauty will be retained by air drying, thus promoting – and also – an environmentally friendly approach.

The charm of velvet also lies in its versatility. It matches perfectly with different decoration styles. Particularly with a classic and sophisticated interior, contemporary decor or even in a bohemian atmosphere. Combined with washed linen or bamboo satin in your bedroom, the headboard and the removable cushion cover will enhance your bed.
