Heat + Pets : How to Give Them (and You) a Cozy Summer at Home ?

Have you ever thought about the heat + pets combo ? Because between us, in summer we often think about barbecues and drinks on the terrace… But our pets suffer from the heat ! What if we rethought the home a bit to make it a true cozy haven for them too ?

No need to install air conditioning or build them a marble bed : just a few smart habits plus some clever linens, and your furry friends will thank you (in their own way).

Why do our pets need to stay cool in summer too ?

Because they don’t have our thermoregulation system.

Dogs, cats & co sweat very little (or not at all). As a result, their body temperature rises quickly, and they can suffer from the heat even indoors.

Because they sleep everywhere… especially on soft things

Sofas, beds, cushions, bed runner, baskets… Our four-legged friends often pick the most comfortable materials. So why not offer them ones suited to the season ?

How to adapt your home linens for their comfort (and yours) ?

Swap fleece for linen or gauze.

Forget winter throws : in summer, opt for light and breathable fabrics. Washed linen, for example, is naturally thermoregulating and doesn’t trap heat. The same goes for cotton gauze : light, soft, and easy to care for (a must-have if your cat has long fur).

Create plenty of cool little spots

Lay a lightweight flat sheet (washed linen, gauze, cotton) on the floor or on a shaded piece of furniture : it instantly becomes a cozy resting spot for Asco or Romy. And if it matches your decoration… That’s a win-win !
